A Letter of Appeal
to SCM and WSCF AP Senior Friends

December 20, 2007

Advent Greetings to you and your family! I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirit.

As fellow-senior friend, I’m sure you will agree with me that we have gained much from joining the SCM and WSCF during our time. Our common experiences have brought about meaningful changes in our own lives. It has opened up our young minds to new perspective and world views. It has provided us unique experiences and challenges in life. Most of all, we gained friends and comrades from far away places, many of whom have become lifetime companions.

Appeal brochure - outer spreadWSCF and the SCMs are nurturing communities. As students of our generation, we stood in solidarity with each other during the tumultuous period of dictatorial regimes in Asia in the 70’s and 80’s, we listened to the voices and supported our women folks when they struggled for their own space in the federation, we extended our warm friendship to fellow students coming from distant and unfamiliar places. WSCF and SCMs nurtured our faith in a God that knows no boundary, color or creed.

Appeal brochure - inner spreadToday, the SCMs are struggling to survive. Committed in the same vision and principles that we all believed in, our young SCMers are trying their very best to continue our legacy in very difficult situations.

As senior friends of SCM and WSCF, it’s about time that we support and nurture our own community. I would like to invite you to make a small contribution for the SCM and WSCF AP. In this season of giving, may we ask for your kind support using the attached Appeal Brochure.

We wish you a joyous and meaningful Christmas! Thank you very much for your support!

On behalf of the current generation of SCMers,

Necta Montes Rocas
WSCF Regional Secretary
and a fellow senior friend (SCM Philippines batch 82-88)
