The EASYNet Regional Coordinating Team (CT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Maria Cristina Lucquiao Miranda, fondly called Cristina by friends, as EASYNet Regional Coordinator beginning April 1, 2009. She is an active youth leader of the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA), holding two positions as the chairperson of the Youth Participation and Youth Leadership Committee of the Asia-Pacific Alliance of YMCA (APAY) and chair of the Youth Committee of World Alliance of YMCA. As a youth leader, she facilitated programs and events for young people in her national movement and promoted the voices of the youth in various regional and global YMCA gatherings.
Cristina is not new to EASYNet, she has participated in the EASYNet Writers Workshop in the Philippines in 2002 and Korea in 2005, where she contributed articles for the EASYNet Resource Books. She has also participated in the National Ecumenical Teams (NETs) gatherings in the Philippines.
Cristina is 30 years old and hails from Cabanatuan City, Philippines where she first joined the YMCA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. Before joining EASYNet, she was taking-up Masters course in Community Development at the University of the Philippines (UP) and was a Mass Communication and English Instructor at the Wesleyan University.
