The World Student Christian Federation - Inter Regional Office held its Executive committee (ExCo) in Alexandria, Egypt from May 31st - 9th June, 2007, hosted by the Middle East Region. The ExCo is the highest decision making body of the federation comprising of student representatives, officers, senior friends, Regional and Inter Regional staffs of WSCF representing Africa, Asia and Pacific, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean, Middle East and North America. The special invitee was Ms. Kendra Dunbar from GBGM.
Some of the main agendas discussed were: Reporting and evaluation of the activities of the Regional and Inter regional staffs, Officers, evaluation of EAP and setting strategies for future assistance for the national movements, Affirmation of the Sexual Harassment Policy, General Assembly2008, Movement building. Apart from the main committee the personal, finance and the women’s commission and men’s caucus met simultaneously. One of the major decisions was the venue and theme for the 34th General Assembly2008. The assembly will take place from August 1-10, 2008 in Montréal, Québec, Canada on the Theme: Your sons and daughters shall prophesy.
Apart from the major planning, strategies and decisions in the ExCo, there were creative worships, Bible Studies on the theme—“Migration” dealt by the resource persons from the Middle East Region and also by members of ExCo. This ExCo was also a pilgrimage to many, as members had an opportunity to visit ancient Churches in and around Alexandria, the Mount Sinai and of course the Pyramids!
